Dogs are humans' best friends. In recent years, as our quality of life has improved, more people have chosen to raise a dog, and having a pet at home also brings much joy to our lives. It can help us relax amid busy study and work. Dogs like Pomeranians and Silver Foxes, which have snowy white fur, have become increasingly popular. We often see these kinds of dogs on the street or in parks. Because their biggest feature is their all-white fur, many people confuse them, but they actually have significant differences.

One of the biggest differences is the size. The Silver Fox is much larger than the Pomeranian. The Pomeranian is a dog that does not grow much, so its maximum weight does not exceed five kilograms. The Silver Fox, however, falls into the medium-sized dog category, with a weight of 20 to 30 kilograms and a body length much longer than the Pomeranian. So, the size difference alone is quite noticeable.

Another difference is their posture. Every time you see a Silver Fox, its neck is straight and upright, showing confidence and a great spirit. The Pomeranian is different; its neck seems always tucked into its fluffy fur, which may better fit its cute and silly temperament. Then there are the eyes: the Pomeranian’s eyes are big, round, and watery, making it very endearing. The Silver Fox’s eyes are almond-shaped, giving off a reserved temperament. Though not as cute as the Pomeranian, it is more handsome and loved by many people.

One more similarity between the Pomeranian and Silver Fox is their tails, both somewhat chrysanthemum-shaped and curling upwards, making them hard to distinguish at first glance. But if you observe carefully, you will find the Pomeranian’s tail curls very high, even reaching to the back of its head, while the Silver Fox’s tail does not curl that high, reaching about two-thirds of the way to the head. With these features, we can better tell the Silver Fox and Pomeranian apart. But no matter which breed, we should lovingly take good care of them.
