Pugs are “adorably ugly” dogs, with big eyes and a little bit of a pitiful and wrinkled small face. Although they are not particularly smart, they are relatively easy dogs to train. Training pugs requires a lot of patience because pugs still carry some aggressiveness. However, nowadays many pugs are kept as pets, so they are gentler. But how should you train a pug puppy about two months old?

Training dogs generally involves some skills, especially now that civilized cities are being established. If you don’t educate your dog well, your dog might cause trouble. Generally, people raise dogs from a young age, but training methods for puppies differ from those for adult dogs because the bones of a two-month-old puppy are not fully developed yet, so overly complex training is not appropriate.

First, we teach them common habits, familiarize them with their living environment, then teach them to eat at designated times and places, and not to urinate or defecate anywhere. If you have enough time, take the dog out for walks daily and let it relieve itself outside. When it does well, give it small rewards. When it’s a little older, it will understand that rewards come only when it behaves correctly. Of course, if it makes mistakes, you should correct its errors with a small punishment so it understands right from wrong.

As it grows up, training content can gradually become more difficult, such as training it to fetch things for you in daily life, or when taking it outside, training it to follow you without running around, and not bark wildly at others. For example, when friends visit your home, you can train it to be less hostile to strangers, which is better if it’s gentler. Many behaviors become habits once the dog learns them. While training, always keep its enthusiasm high to improve training efficiency. If the training is not very successful, you can try using rewards when it’s hungry to increase its interest, which will yield twice the result with half the effort.
