Nowadays, many people have dogs, and in many situations in life, dogs need to stay quietly. For example, during events, dogs cannot run around freely. So how to make them sit and stay still? Next, let's talk about how to train a dog to sit and stay still?
    1. Initial Training.
At the very beginning of training, since it is the dog’s first time participating in such training, it should be gentle. At the start, put the leash and collar on the dog, and also prepare the dog’s toys and treats. If you want to begin training, you can hold the leash and then give the verbal command to sit. When the dog sits, you can adjust their sitting posture, guiding them to complete the standard posture. After completing this step, reward them with treats or play games. After this step, if the dog wants to stand up quickly, you should press them back to the original position and repeat the sit command. After holding the position for a few minutes, you can encourage them by petting their head or giving snacks.

    2. Later Training.
Mid-stage training is more important, focusing on reinforcing the dog's behavior. Since dogs are animals, they cannot always obey owners, so you need to repeatedly give the sit command and action. When the dog can remain sitting quietly for a few minutes, you can issue the stay command clearly. In this way, the dog understands the expected behavior. This training should be scheduled at fixed times and places, once daily, for about 20 minutes. Repeating this multiple times will help the dog master the command. The total training time does not need to be very long; the key is the frequency.
This is an introduction on how to train a dog to sit and stay still. Although a large part depends on the dog, more importantly it depends on the owner's patience. Training is complicated and without enough patience, it is difficult to succeed. This is why many owners fail and send their dogs to training schools. However, as long as you are patient and progress step by step, everyone can accomplish this task.
