What to pay attention to when raising a Pomeranian? Pomeranians do not have a body odor, usually just keep them clean and groom regularly. They do not need frequent baths; bathing once every 1~2 months is sufficient. When bathing, first apply shampoo all over the dog's body, washing in the order of neck first, then body, tail, limbs, and finally the head. While bathing, gently massage with your hands in a smooth motion, rinse with warm water, then shampoo again, repeating twice, and finally rinse thoroughly with warm water. Dry with an absorbent towel, then use a dryer while brushing until completely dry. Be careful not to get shampoo in the eyes when bathing. Wipe the eyes dry with a cloth before applying eye drops, and clean the ears thoroughly with cotton swabs to complete the bathing process.

Grooming puppies can start at about one month old. Use a comb to gently comb from the head, back, chest, limbs, and abdomen, preferably every 3~5 days. For a Pomeranian with a very thick coat, first use a softer wooden-handled comb to thoroughly detangle from head to tail, then use a comb to groom from the back toward the head. After confirming the coat is completely detangled, comb in the opposite direction to fluff the fur. Pay special attention to areas around the ears, under the armpits, and near the anus as these are the most prone to tangles and dirt. Avoid forceful combing with a hard brush to prevent damage to the skin and the undercoat or outer coat.

For grooming and trimming, focus on the ears, limbs, and tail, trimming slightly so that each part looks natural and comfortable. Nails should be trimmed every half month; overly long nails affect the dog's appearance. Clean the ears thoroughly with cotton swabs. If the eyes often have tears, use non-irritating eye drops and wipe with cotton paper to keep the eye area clean.
