At what age is a Husky suitable to bring home? It is more appropriate to bring a young Husky to the new home at 6-7 weeks old; the more contact the puppy has with people, the better its personality and temperament will adapt to the new home. It is said that 8-9 weeks is the “fear period,” similar to an 8-month-old human baby, so avoid bringing it into the new home during this time.

After the Husky puppy arrives in a new environment, it is often highly nervous due to fear; any loud noise or sudden movement can startle it. Therefore, avoid loud noise and do not let many people crowd around out of curiosity or tease it. It’s best to put it directly into a kennel or arrange a resting area indoors. After a period of adaptation, then approach it.

The best time to approach a Husky is during feeding; at this time, you can gently push the food in front of the puppy while speaking softly to it, and also gently stroke its back fur. The food should be something it especially likes eating, and nutrition should be adequately prepared. At first, it may not eat; do not rush or force it. After adapting, it will eat on its own. If it walks out of the kennel or moves freely indoors, it means it has initially adapted to the new environment.

Generally, the puppy can completely adapt to the new environment after 3 to 5 days. During this period, the owner must treat it kindly and must not be irritable or scold it. If the puppy does something according to the owner’s request, timely rewards should be given to let it know this is what the owner likes. If it does something wrong, just say “No” sternly; it will know that is not allowed. At the same time, the Husky puppy must also be trained for toilet use, otherwise it will drive you crazy with random urination and defecation later.

If the Husky barks chaotically during the adaptation period, you can give it some toys to play with. At night, you can leave the light on or turn on the TV at a low volume, so it won’t feel especially lonely. In short, during the period the Husky puppy adapts to the new home, owners need to give enough love and care. Huskies are very energetic dogs, and it is believed they will quickly adapt to life in the new home.
