Dogs Also Have a Lying Psychology

Dogs
Lying is not unique to humans; dogs also lie because they cannot speak and rely on behavior to express themselves. Sometimes their lying and disguising methods are quite sophisticated.
In the book Psychology of Dogs, a famous example is recorded: a dog had a habit of rummaging through garbage piles and was punished by its owner. Since then, if the dog was searching through the garbage and the owner suddenly called it, the dog would never immediately run to the owner but would first run toward the grass in the opposite direction before running back to the owner. This is a common-sense act of hiding one’s mistakes. However, it can also be seen that the dog is avoiding the owner's punishment out of fear, while a strong obedience drives it to return to the owner. Regardless, dogs do exhibit lying behavior, which we should be aware of when training them.
