Nowadays, more or less, small pets that friends keep at home mostly belong to the canine family. So there are always some questions regarding training and raising them. Everyone wants to find some professional books on this subject for learning. Here, I highly recommend a book called "Pet Behavior and Training".
     "Pet Behavior and Training" is based on the spirit of the documents issued by the Ministry of Education. It can be said to be a very professional textbook. We can find a lot of the professional knowledge and theories we need within it. Currently, the market has books about pet behavior and training that either purely explain behavioral theories or mainly focus on primary pet training content. But there are no especially professional resources for us to study.

     Of course, as a pet owner, you don't need to fully master this knowledge, but some important explanations on pet behavior analysis and training methods are very professional and definitely worth learning.
     The first nine chapters mainly explain some basic theories, skills, and methods about pet training. For some, I suggest skipping the basic theory to focus on skills and method sections. Moreover, it not only discusses canines but also covers training for cats and birds.
     The biggest feature of this book is that at the end of each training section, it provides some notes on precautions and common mistakes during that training, which helps us avoid many detours during training. Also, for some important training topics, there are pictures and diagrams that offer convenience for owners who want to self-learn.
     "Pet Behavior and Training" can be considered a textbook in this field, but it’s not as formal or text-heavy as typical textbooks. The focus is on moderate theory, emphasizing skill training with basic theoretical highlights. The training techniques and methods explained in this book are rigorous, straightforward, and easy to understand, making it very suitable for self-study. Additionally, if you want to study more deeply and systematically, you can put more effort into the theoretical basics. If you want to make this a skill, this book is also worth reading. Towards the end, the book includes corresponding comprehensive and thought-provoking review questions. Overall, this book is very comprehensive. I highly recommend it.
