　　Originally, isolation was meant to prevent fighting and the spread of diseases among cats, but after practice, another benefit has been discovered.

　　Generally, the dominant pet at home will not easily accept an outsider, and the older the cat, the more timid it is. If you bring a new pet cat home at this point, naturally there will be prolonged conflicts. But if you isolate the new cat in a separate room for some time and do not let it meet the other cats, the benefits are as follows:

　　1、The new cat will gradually get familiar with you and will more easily relax and acclimate to the environment in this quiet space;

　　2、The original pet cat at home will not immediately feel that its territory and status are threatened;

　　3、The original cat at home will roughly know that there is another cat behind the closed door. It will gradually become familiar with the new cat’s scent from you, feeling more and more affectionate over time; plus, the desire to see that cat will grow stronger, and at a certain point, curiosity will overcome rejection;

　　4、The new cat also gradually becomes familiar with the original cat’s scent from you, and with considerable trust in the new owner, it will increasingly want to explore the space outside the isolation room, with curiosity overcoming all fear.
