Siamese cats are one of the pets raised by many families nowadays and are deeply loved by everyone. During the process of raising Siamese cats, some basic training is quite necessary. Training not only helps cats develop good living habits but also reduces some troubles for the owners. So, what are the methods for training Siamese cats?

First of all, the most commonly and widely used training method is inducement training. This mainly attracts the Siamese cat’s attention through delicious food and items that interest the cat, guiding the cat to complete the training actions. Food is usually used as inducement before training, and after the cat successfully completes the training action, food rewards should also be given to stimulate the cat to participate in the next training smoothly.

The forced training method is also quite commonly used. This type of training mainly refers to mechanical stimulation and commanding threats to make the cat accurately perform the corresponding actions. In the early stage of training, since the cat does not yet have a clear understanding of training and commands, the owner needs to manually force the cat to learn the training content and repeatedly practice until the cat understands the meaning of the commands and forms a conditioned reflex to independently complete the training actions.

In the process of training Siamese cats, the owner can also use a clear reward and punishment method. When the Siamese cat correctly completes a training action, the owner should promptly give food rewards or praise such as petting. This reinforces the cat’s correct behavior in the next training sessions, forming a conditioned reflex. However, owners should not give rewards too frequently or without limits. Besides rewards, necessary punishments are also needed during training. Especially when the Siamese cat deliberately makes mistakes or develops bad habits, the owner must give timely punishment. Scolding and gentle tapping are both necessary. (Source:PetsZone)
