How to Prevent Cats from Going Out at Night
Burmese Cat
Cats are crepuscular and nocturnal by nature; they are less active during the day but very lively at night. If allowed to roam freely at night, they might get injured or dirty their fur while hunting mice, mating, or fighting, which is unhealthy and can also affect household cleanliness. Moreover, frequent night roaming can make cats very wild and hard to manage. If they bring back infectious diseases, it may even threaten the owner's health.
Therefore, domestic cats should not be allowed to roam at night. Correcting a cat's night roaming habit must begin when they are kittens. You can first use a cage for training — let the cat out during the day to move around indoors but do not allow it to go outside, then put it back in the cage at night. Over time, this will become a habit, and even if the cage is removed, the cat will no longer go out at night.
