How to Prevent Cats from Getting Lice
Persian Cat
Methods to prevent lice include:
1. Flea collars: Most contain insecticides such as organophosphates or carbamates, which dissolve slowly in the plastic components and release gradually. They act directly on fleas to kill them. The flea collar should be replaced before its effective period expires.
2. Flea growth regulators: Destroy the early life cycle of fleas causing death.
3. Insecticidal rinses: Contain pyrethrum ingredients, non-toxic and residue-free, very effective when used regularly.
4. Flea sprays, topical agents, and powders: Insecticides, insecticide synergists or growth regulators are added into alcohol or aqueous solutions to make sprays and topical agents; diatomaceous earth or silica gel is used as powders.
In cat care, daily grooming should be maintained, not only to remove excess fur and prevent tangles but also to detect flea eggs early and promptly carry out insecticidal and pest prevention work. (Source:PetsZone)
