How to Effectively Deal with a Female Cat in Heat
Himalayan Cat
Female cats are induced ovulators. Simply put, a female cat's heat only ends after ovulation, and ovulation occurs only through mating stimulation. Therefore, based on this principle, artificial stimulation can be used to induce ovulation in the female cat, thus ending the heat cycle.
I. Implementation:
One caretaker helps to hold the cat, gently stroking the cat to make it lie prone, fixing the cat in place. Movements should not be too large or forceful, just enough to keep the cat still. If the cat cooperates, no assistance is needed.
Dip a cotton swab in baby oil, avoiding dripping oil drops. Lightly touch the cat's private parts for four to five seconds. If the cat shows no rejection, repeat the procedure one or two times at half-hour intervals.
If this method is effective, the heat will basically end after 24 hours. If after three continuous days no effect occurs, please give up.
II. Precautions:
1. The cotton swab must have a tightly wrapped head so that the cotton fibers do not come loose.
2. The lubricant must be non-irritating.
3. Perform the procedure gently and keep your hand steady to avoid hurting the cat.
4. This method is not effective for all cats.
III. Reminder:
This method only helps female cats end heat earlier so caretakers can schedule spaying surgery at the appropriate time. It does not fundamentally solve the problem of cats in heat. Therefore, spaying surgery is still the most fundamental choice.
