How to Cultivate Good Eating Habits for Cats

Chinchilla
1. Feeding method.
From three to four weeks after birth to 2.5 months: 4 to 5 times daily. Dry cat food can be mixed with hot boiled water and cat milk formula before feeding. Give a small amount just after weaning and increase feeding frequency. Some cats may have diarrhea if they drink cow’s milk, so use cat-specific milk.
From 2.5 months to 6 months: 3 times daily. Provide dry cat food directly, and always place fresh water nearby for drinking. From 6 months to adult cats: 2 times daily.
2. Feeding time.
Feed at fixed times and fixed locations regularly and properly to help cats develop good habits. Do not allow cats to eat food anytime they want as this can overload their digestive system. Feed in a quiet place away from the litter box; otherwise, your cat may refuse to eat. Leave the food for a period (15 to 30 minutes), then remove the bowl until the next feeding time.
3. Feeding amount.
The initial amount given should be about the size of the cat’s head. Later, adjust according to different life stages. (Source:PetsZone)
