Cats and Dogs Language Barrier

The relationship between cats and dogs can be compared to that of China and the United States. Both live together, but the cultures are very different. China uses a handshake to represent friendliness, while the US uses a hug to show intimacy. At the same time, the language barrier is also a big problem.
As everyone knows, cats and dogs seem naturally unfriendly. Except for some cats and dogs who grow up together and adapt to each other, most cats and dogs seem naturally incompatible.
In daily life, it is often seen that dogs bite their tails to find cats to play, getting scratched by cats, or cats being chased by dogs climbing walls and trees. What is the reason?
Actually, the main reason is the language barrier, or even the opposite signals. It’s like the dog says in English: “Good morning!” but the cat misunderstands it as “Cats are weak, is it scolding me?”
Here are two examples:
When a dog lifts its paw to swat the other, it means it is happy and wants to play. Cats are exactly the opposite - when a cat raises its paw, it's generally a warning and a symbol of attack. (Dogs mostly use their mouths to attack, while cats mostly use their paws.)
When a cat is under the sunlight, being petted by a person, or in a good mood, it purrs. Dogs, on the other hand, the purring sound generally comes with raised fur and means the dog is angry and ready to attack or threaten.
When cats and dogs meet for the first time, the dog will actively approach the cat. Adult cats absolutely cannot accept such enthusiastic receptions by dogs and may even extend sharp claws to hurt the dog, which causes the dog’s disgust and leads to enmity. Generally speaking, adult cats and dogs have a stronger sense of alertness, while young cats and dogs are more innocent and easier to get along with. Therefore, if you want to keep both cats and dogs, you must ensure that one of them is young. Moreover, when they start living together, it is best to leash the dog and keep a certain distance from the cat, then release the dog only after they become familiar with each other’s scent. Of course, if they are all young kittens and puppies, that’s even better - the owner won’t have to worry, and they will harmoniously accompany you for life!(Source:PetsZone)
