Cat's Small Exercises Easily Practice
British Shorthair Cat
Standing, lying down, and rolling over
Standing, lying down, and rolling over are easy actions for cats to complete, but to have cats respond to human gestures requires training. At the beginning of training, humans should assist the cat to hold fixed postures such as standing, hind legs on the ground with front legs lifted, lying on the side, or lying prone upon hearing commands and seeing gestures. When the cat successfully completes these, give a reward. Then proceed to training the rolling over action. In this way, progressing from command + gesture → action to command → action or gesture → action, the cat owner will feel great satisfaction. When the cat can autonomously perform actions upon command, gradually reduce food rewards and use petting or other rewards instead. After learning a set of actions, repeat after some time to consolidate and deepen memory.
