Beat the cat into submission, if not affectionate then starve
Beat the cat into submission, if not affectionate then starve generally refers to using methods such as beating and fasting to cause the cat pain or hunger, then it gradually becomes obedient.
Why does my cat go to eat every time I spank its butt?
Anxiety. It sees that you have hit it, thinking you might be angry and possibly don’t want it anymore, so it wants to eat well in case it is kicked out and can survive a while...
Some cats have strong psychological self-healing ability and toughness, so this might be a way for the cat to turn grief and anger into increased food intake as a form of self-comfort! My silly cat, almost five months old, sometimes after doing something bad is confined for 1–2 hours as punishment, and the first thing it does when released is to go eat. After eating, it goes to its nest to knead milk, purrs and sleeps soundly. Upon waking, it is fully recharged, running around the house doing parkour again, jumping everywhere, approaching for all kinds of petting and attention. It has long forgotten the punishment and becomes a carefree, happy little tomcat again — such a life of eating, drinking, playing, and having no worries, what more could one ask for?
Do cats really get obedient by being beaten?
We once had a cat that really liked my grandmother. At night it especially liked to follow her into her room, trying to sleep with her. No matter how much she tried to chase it away, it wouldn’t leave.
During that period, every night before my grandmother slept there was quite a battle:
My grandmother went upstairs, the cat hearing the noise immediately jumped up the stairs from far away, then my grandmother raised her hand to wait, like a baseball player swinging a bat, and slapped the cat on the forehead, causing it to be thrown sideways with a "meow". It quickly recovered, my grandmother hadn’t walked two steps yet, it rushed again, and then was slapped away again with a "meow"...
The first time I saw this, I was shocked and speechless. I’d never seen such a violent side of my grandmother.
But I also never saw such a stupid cat; my grandmother’s hand calmly stayed there as if at ease... Think about how quick an old lady’s actions can be, and it still jumped exactly onto her palm. For a while, I suspected the cat was dazed by the hits. But during the day it was fairly normal. Especially when it wasn’t around my grandmother, it still had the posture and pride of a master.
During a holiday, I watched my grandmother hit it three to four times a night like batting baseballs or golf balls, and I didn’t feel it was being beaten into submission... It seemed like the two of them were having a great time playing...
