How Many Colors Does a Sheltie Have
Sheltie
The Sheltie not only has an elegant figure, but its long, flowing coat also makes it appear more graceful and elegant. The Sheltie's coat is a double coat, with the outer coat composed of long, straight, coarse hairs, and the undercoat soft, dense, and thick, giving the coat a "lifted" appearance. Furthermore, the Sheltie's coat color is not just a single variety; it has several different colors.
Black, blue merle, or deep sable (ranging from golden to mahogany), with varying degrees of white markings (with or without tan). Defects: yellowing of black or blue coats; color fading or bleaching, such as pale deep sable or faded blue. Dogs primarily of the blue merle color lacking merle pattern or having mottled patterns generally appear dull or faded tricolor. Noticeable white markings on the body, white covering more than 50% of the overall coat, etc., require severe penalties and confirmation that these dogs be excluded from competitions. Disqualification: spotted color.
